Quality Assurance Manager

Manage the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the ISO 17025 calibration laboratory system.

Reviews and approves all ISO manual documentation.

Manage activities relating to maintaining ISO 9001 certification and ISO 17025 accreditation.

Conducted internal ISO audits and supplier audits.

Trains, develops, and directs Quality Assurance department personnel and calibration laboratory technicians.

Maintains gage calibration system for manufacturing, QA and the calibration laboratory.

Generates and reviews reports for supplier quality, rework, scrap and customer complaints.

Manages the continuous improvement activities through corrective and preventative actions. Lean manufacturing and 6S.

Manages suppliers of products and services.

Manages activities pertaining to receiving, in-process inspections and final inspection.

Reviews and dispositions all non-conformance items.

Reviews new and revised drawings as a part of the design and drawing approval process.

Customer contact concerning quality issues.

Tricon Industries, Inc. – Downers Grove, IL Insert Plastic Molder – 2nd Tier Automotive – 90% of customers were automotive. They also had their own stamping facility. Non-union shop. April 1996 to October 2005

Quality Assurance Supplier Development Engineer – July 1999 to October 2005- under QS9000 QMS

Developed new and existing suppliers.

Managed supplier corrective actions.

Computed supplier ratings with parts defective per million (PPM).

Implemented supplier on-site audits and tracking of supplier self-assessment surveys.

Approved supplier production part approval process (PPAP) for purchased products. Quality Assurance Supervisor – April 1996 to July 1999

Supervised up to ten inspectors over three shifts and two manufacturing sites.

Wrote inspection procedures and work instructions.

Performed internal audits per QS 9000 manual.

Announcer and control board operator – Host of Saturday morning show “DCB Jazz” at 90.9 FM WDCB since 1991. Programs the entire musical content of show.

Emcee for variety of well-known Jazz artists at numerous venues including City Winery, Elmhurst College, and Hyde Park Jazz Festival.
