PROJECT
TITLE : ANALYSIS ON ACOUSTIC IMPEDANCE MISMATCH PHENOMENA ON DIFFERENT MATERIALS BY USING ULTRASONIC TESTING
Main aim of this project is to find and study the internal flaws/cracks of different materials by using one of the NON-DESTRUCTIVE TEST called ULTRASONIC TESTING. Ultrasonic Testing (UT) uses high frequency sound energy to conduct examinations and make measurements. Ultrasonic inspection can be used for flaw detection/evaluation, dimensional measurements, material characterization, and more. When ultrasonic energy is introduced, it propagates through the materials in the form of Waves. When there is a discontinuity (air gap) in the wave path, part of energy will be reflected back from the flaw surface because of the density (d) difference and difference in the velocity (V) of the sound waves.
