Design, deployment of various SNMP and Netcool bi-directional alarm gateways to replicate alarms from a particular country operator into the Vodafone International Backbone (NSU) and vice-versa. Design and Deployment of a clustered Impact server and enrichment policies making SQL requests on the Netcool Inventory Manager database (NCIM) part of IBM Tivoli Network Manager 3.7 (ITNM) in order to enrich alarms with reference to the “Service” being impacted by a particular alarm as it is found in the device proper MIB-II mib and pulled by ITNM into NCIM.

Sept09..Feb11, OSS Service Assurance Netcool-Tivoli Development Lead Netcool Alarms Test Engineer for the delivery and validation of the Netcool based fault monitoring OSS Integration delivered by Alcatel to the UK Motorway Authority. This FM system features monitoring of Alcatel IP network equipments through the Alcatel 5620 SAM probe on one hand, and the monitoring of IP interconnected specific motorway devices such as road side emergency phones, road side electronic text display boards, traffic lights, automated weather stations on the other hand. For theses devices development of rules files from scratch designed after a specially designed parent/child alarms map architecture that ease alarm deduplication and root cause analysis.. Perl scripting to automatize test run based on captured sampled alarms. Automatisation of test results interpretation by mean of a Perl scripts analyzing alarms produced by tests and generating a report of test success/errors for each individual test. This automatisation of test run and analysis provide a test process productivity gain of 5 to 1. Summary of tasks achieved during this contract:

Design of Alarm map for Motorway specific devices.

• Project management and hands on development alarms correlation rules for motorway specific devices.

Oct07..July08, OSS Service Assurance Netcool-Tivoli Consultant Deployment of a complete OSS solution based on the IBM-Micromuse Netcool suite for one of the first Kuwaiti bank. Definition of the target architecture in a workshop with the customer. Project management of the solution deployment of the system achieved by a team of a UK Network Admin Integration and Engineering Cy sent in successive waves to install the Netcool software suite: Omnibus, Webtop, Probes MOM and SNMP, Reporter, Precision, Proviso. I was personally involved in the design and realisation in the core technical part of the architecture, that is Omnibus, SNMP, MOM and Precision probes, design of a very hipe Webtop GUI offering different synoptic views for 5 different users profiles, based on geographic location, devices technological domains and business processes chains. The DSLpack OSS is composed of 10 sunOS platforms all redounded. It is a specific integration of the Netcool Micromuse OSS designed as particular package dedicated to ISPs, saled as a bundled with the Alcatel NGN infrastructure offer for ISPs, composed of various Alactel products such as DSLAM, routers and other vendors equipments. The SOC architecture build on the Netcool platform for lives alarms management. The Netcool platform is set to do the acquisition of all alarms and events logged from firewalls connected through a large number of probes using syslog, snmp or Cisco proprietary formats.
