Cover Letter

My name is Dina Zimmerman and I have a passion for learning and helping others. I am personable, happy and outgoing and my preceptors have expressed that their patients feel at ease with me and they have opened up with me more than they thought possible. I work hard to achieve my goals and continue to learn and keep informed with new evidence based practices. I will be an asset to anyone’s company.

Professionally, I was a nurse for a year in a nursing home and pediatric office, when I decided to continue my education. I continued to work as a pediatric nurse in my graduate program, while taking care of kids of my own. I crave to stay busy and make a difference in my life, family and community. I believe a balance of all my responsibilities in my life will keep me feeling happy and accomplished.

My professional goals are to be the best Nurse Practitioner I can be and to keep growing and learning and to never stop achieving and helping others. By doing this, I will never put a cap on my career and learning. I view life and my career as, “the sky is the limit”. Essentially, I want to master each step of my career/life and graciously move forward. Even though I have been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for a year, my experiences in my life have shaped me into the person I am today. I had twins 3.5 months early and they were critically sick for many months. My son in particular, had all the complications a preemie that young could possibly have. We were blessed to have him an extra year after doctors told us he only had hours left to live. My son Eleesha came home at nine months with a tracheostomy, G-tube and ventilator. We had nurses for some hours of the day and we filled in the rest. Taking care of my other 2 children, being in nursing school, and being attentive to all of Eleesha’s needs, my husband and I were at the peak of stress and anxiety and needed to be the heroes for ourselves and our kids. We pushed through with a smile and so grateful for the precious moments we had with him and each other. I believe I can truly understand a person at a time of despair, hope/hopelessness, stress and overwhelming emotions. I believe I can be a wonderful addition to your team.

Sincerely, Dina Zimmerman
