Experience Profile:
Having experience in Welding inspection activities of Piping, Structural & Tank projects.
Ability to read drawings and specifications.
Interpretation and implementation of mandatory codes, standards and specifications.
Ensuring all inspections and tests are carried out as indicated on the appropriate Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
Knowledge in ASME sec IX, sec V, sec VIII, sec II, Sec II Part-A,B,C & API 1104, 650, 653, 620, AWS D1.1, ASME B31.3 and Russian standards for Nuclear project.
Knowledge in preparation of WPS, PQR and WQT as per applicable standards.
Conduct welder qualification Test with approved WPS, witness welder test & review welder certificates.
Knowledge in preparation of work procedures for UT, RT, LPT, MPT as per applicable standards.
Inspection and control of materials and consumables by reviewing the test certificates.
Ensuring the traceability of material heat no. / Batch no.
Ensuring calibration of measuring test equipments for inspection and welding equipments.
Conduct fit up inspection prior to full welding and ensure that only qualified welders are allowed to perform in accordance with the approved WPS.
Monitoring pre-heating,interpass, input temperature, welding consumables prior to welding.
Final visual inspection and dimensional check of welded joints as per the applicable codes & standards.
Preparation of inspection reports daily welding reports (DWR), Welding inspection report (WIR) etc, and NDT reports as per the applicable standards.
Conducting Ultrasonic testing, Radiographic film Interpretation, Liquid penetrate testing, Magnetic particle testing, Leak testing and PWHT as per the project requirements.
Conducting Positive Material Identification (PMI) test for base metals and welded metals.
Witnessing of Mechanical Testing of materials like Hardness test, Bend test etc.,
Preparation of Documentation required for hydro test & pneumatic test.
Document Review & Test Package Review.
Coordinating with clients and contractors for inspection activities and documentation.
Reviewing corrective actions recommended in non-conformance reports, initiate and
Verifycorrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of non-conformity.
Daily Surveillance inspection at site and report submitted to QA/QC management Personnel
