CLINICAL TRAINING
1)Family nurse practitioner training with Michael Spillane, FNP-C- Orange Grove Family Practice, Tucson AZ, May 2019-April 2020. 480 hours of direct patient care of the chronic and acute ill for new and existing patients. Responsibilities included overall patient visits of different ages, coordinating care along the continuum of care, completing and submitting charts daily including coding, and maintaining medical records. Skills preformed included but are not limited to: annual exams, pelvic exams, pap smears, breast exams, prostate examination, reproductive health screening, STD/HIV screening and management, skin tag removal, nail avulsion, joint injections, suturing, woods lamp examinations, wound management, cerumen disimpaction.
2)Family nurse practitioner training with Shelley Vaughn, DNP, FNP-BC and Tanya Tillman, FNP-C - Gila Valley Clinic, Safford, AZ, May 2019-April 2020. 300 hours of direct patient encounters in a rural family practice clinic. Responsibilities include direct patient care for a vast range of new and existing patients of all ages. Skills performed included punch biopsy, pap smears and pelvic exams, suture repair, wet mount by microscopy, splinting and casting, well exams, etc.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Nursing Faculty, Arizona College of Nursing, Tucson, AZ. August 2020-current. Responsibilities include preparation and presentation of lecture, skills, and simulation for students enrolled in 5th and 6th semesters of nursing, as well as supervision of students in a clinical setting at Tucson Medical Center. Acting as a liaison between the medical institution and the college.
Emergency Department Registered Nurse, Tucson Medical Center, Tucson, AZ. November 2018-current.
Responsibilities include general emergency medicine patient care, triage responsibilities, and charge nurse shifts. TMC is the 2nd busiest ED in Arizona, servicing over 107,000 patient visits per year. As a charge nurse, I ensured that the department was productive on a daily basis. Managed flow of the department, as well as staff. Worked closely with providers and administration to ensure that the department maximized efficiency while maintaining a high standard of patient care.

Responsibilities included teaching and supervision of students currently enrolled in the medical surgical, pediatrics, and critical care blocks while they are practicing nursing in a clinical setting in Phoenix area hospitals such as BUMCP, Banner Desert, Banner Baywood. Responsibilities included managing a 63 to 90 bed ED while acting as a liaison between residents, attending MDs, nurses, technicians in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Nursing Peer Review Committee Member – hospital wide committee that deals with ethics and nursing performance. Stroke Champion – prepared through training to help any RN in the department ensure that stroke documentation and patient care are top notch and free of errors.
