Terminal Manager: Asphalt Terminal

NuStar Energy, Pittsburg, CA 2015 - 2019

Supplied molten asphalt to state and private sector paving jobs and Polymer Modified Asphalt (PMA) for the taxiways of major area airports including Oakland, San Francisco, and Sacramento.

● On time delivery of asphalt with no interruptions to hot plants. Shipped Terminal record 885 truckloads which is seven million gallons of asphalt. Normal throughput is 2.5 million a month.

● Secured our customers annual renewal with 100% customer satisfaction.

● Fostered an open-door policy for employees, creating ownership of our Terminal.

● Trained operations to safely modify, transfer, and receive asphalt by railcars and trucks, and top load into tanker trucks.

● Relentless focus on safety with 14 years since the last OSHA recordable injury. Terminal Manager: Clean Fuels Terminal

NuStar Energy, Stockton, CA 2007 - 2015

Responsible for delivery and receipt of gasoline, diesel, ethanol, and avgas/aviation fuel by railcar and pipeline. Products were dispensed to the entire San Joaquin Valley, Bay Area, and far south as Bakersfield and east to Nevada to support our customers Valero, Shell, and Chevron.

● Facilitated and built rapport with regulators SJVAPCD, CUPA, local Hazardous Materials Division, Stockton Fire Department, and the Port of Stockton.

● Installed new Vapor Combustion Unit to minimize downtime and increase profitability.

● Built, then developed procedures for six railcar diesel loading rack with 20% increase throughput.

● Trained and built personal relationships with terminal operators, contractors, carriers and customers to ensure that our company expectations were followed and realized.

● Achieved VPP Star status with OSHA: 7 years since last OSHA recordable injury.

● Trained our Operations Manager to become the Terminal Manager for succession planning. Taught him how to manage the terminal budget, drive safety initiatives, and work seamlessly with operators, contractors, regulators, engineers, and senior staff.

● Integrated our Terminal with new corporate standards when Pittsburg Asphalt Terminal was sold to Valero Energy.

● Mastered multiple new databases to track all terminal inventory, safety, HR, regulatory, and process safety management programs. Provided related training to all Terminal Personnel.
