I began as a staff nurse in their sub-acute care unit

Within one year I was promoted to Supervisor of their 135 bed LTC division

In 1999, I became the Hospital Educator with a couple of additional roles-

Wound care Nurse, Infection Control Practitioner, Employee Health

and Assistant DON

Developed the curriculum for Pennsylvania State Nursing Assistant Program

Developed an orientation program “Road Map to Success” which assisted

the new employee in becoming successful through a mentor program.

The program was very successful in reducing turn over taking the nursing assistant

turnover rate from 95% to less than 10%.

This program was awarded the AHA award for recruitment and retention.

2009- Responsibilities included Nursing care and Supervisor.

I also developed a wound care team and assisted in writing wound care protocols

Wound Nurse, Employee Health and Infection Control

Early in my role here I recognized that the orientation process had no organization

and continuity. I introduced the program I had created “The Road Map to Success”

and from their we have continued to improve the orientation process to

our current program “RN Clinical Excellence.

In the role of ICP develop evidence based practice policies and protocols as well as

surveillance for hospital acquired infections trends and outbreaks.

Team lead of the Patient safety program STOP focuses on Employee safety and reduction

of employee injuries in the workplace.
