PROFESSIONAL OVERVIEW

•I'm a “Full Stack” SQL Developer, with an emphasis on Business Intelligence. I prefer to work in the SQL Server arena, but am not aversed to working with other data sources for example Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, flat files, Azure databases, Access databases, systems integration between legacy systems or data transfers between active resources. I know and appreciate the subtleties of T-SQL and PL/SQL and can work with both; developing solutions for nuances exhibited between them both.

•I have been a DBA, as well as a SQL BI developer and am quite often called upon to perform such tasks be it issuing user permissions to access the data to more complex functions such as replication and pulling data from Change Data Capture (CDC) resources. I regularly produce fully realized databases which includes but is not limited to table creation and population, indexes, file groups, views stored procedures (some running to over 3000 lines of code), functions, partitions, backups etc.

•I create databases, and present the data collected within the OLAP/Data Mart resources with a variety of solutions, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI and more recently Tableau. I've also been involved with developing and producing applications that integrate with the databases (over 20 years) be they direct user input using various programming languages (C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, Perl, Python as examples) or designing and producing Web Services and SOAP messaging processes.

Senior Developer R&D Portfolio, Ambulatory

Involved in the development and maintenance of SQL views run within various Metric databases hosted on an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Amazon Redshift (PostgreSQL) infrastructure. The views under development are used to assist and monitor the throughput and responses of medical professionals across the US, enabling them to be able to determine clinical, financial and patient derived data.

ETL SSIS Developer (Contract)

Development and migration of SSIS ETL packages (180+) from 2008 environment to 2017. Packages include migration of financial and product data into and out of Oracle databases, flat files (txt, csv), and also the processing of SSAS cubes both for data extraction (MDX) and cube maintenance (from within SSIS packages). Included in the development work was enabling multi environment distribution using the project deployment model. Also included, as necessary, updating and reworking various SSIS Script Tasks in C# for specific functionality while migrating data into and out of Oracle databases.

Also provided consultative assistance with the overall improvement of database performance on SQL Server 2014/2017 database, maintenance, best practices, query and stored procedure optimization.

ETL SSIS Developer (Contract)

Principal strategist for SSIS ETL packages and process improvements, including sourcing and scrubbing various data from multiple sources (flat file, Oracle, SQL Server), utilization of standard SSIS data flow tasks but also extensive use of C# Script Tasks for more “avante garde” requirements. Transformed and processed data into formats (again involving C# script tasks) for Logility SCM destination in furtherance of their major global enterprise projects. Designed and developed Supply Chain Customer Service DataMart Dimensional Database, including SQL Server 2016/2017. Oversee SSAS cube development, including data collection, data scrubbing, variable analysis, and SSIS processes. Reporting served by Tableau dashboards. Provided Power BI alternatives for the “Excel power user” base out of the SSAS Data Cube which was also provided as a source of hierarchical aggregated data. Created an SSIS process to deliver daily updates of sales data for sales representative compensation, the data provided in an Excel (csv) format, and final delivery via an SFTP process.

•Critical Business Implementation: Effectively delivered multimillion-dollar implementation of the CooperVision supply chain process and the team received commendation from top executives and senior leadership for an “job well done”.

SSIS Developer (Contract)

Oversaw SSIS and SQL development to streamline .NET user interface and import/entry of user data. Leveraged user interface to import data into underlying database and from flat files in preparation of ACA compliance. Conversion of an intricate, sizeable, business critical MS-Access based application into a VB.Net version which inevitably included the conversion of Forms to web-based pages, Queries, Macros and code to .Net functionality. Developed other VB.NET applications to perform bulk loading and data validation. Also supported SSRS reports development.
