Resume:

November **, ****

To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to submit my resume and application for employment within your organization. If you believe my skills, education, and experience would meet your needs and make me a good fit for this or any position, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you. I believe that I meet the requisite requirements to function effectively in a broad range of positions based on my experience in the areas of office management, client services, financial services, and education. I am skilled in:

Using various computer word processing and software database programs (Microsoft Suite as well as Google Suite, Cranium, WebEx, SIS, and CRM) in order to prepare correspondence and maintain an information system

Interpreting and understanding established policies, and guidelines

Problem solving and conflict resolution

Training including new hire, continuing education, buidling training platforms and developing training modules and testing measures

Office management including recruiting and staffing, time management, budgeting, HR functions, and work flow

Creating online workshops for individual and large group use

Communicating effectively with a diverse group both inside and outside the organization and with all levels within an organization

Creating and developing guidance, plans, and procedures with originality that meet unique program needs

Case management, both short and long term

Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy in interacting with individuals/families and program support representatives

Creating and developing guidance, plans, and procedures with originality that meet unique program needs

In my current position, I am the first point of academic planning contact for our freshman students, I am the ‘face of Gaucho’ through which I train our new students on how to login, use their student center, navigate the website, and also review their test scores and GPA for class placement. I also assess for eligibility, submit, and update Honors/Scholarship students’ paperwork and override class selections for enrollment. I start the initial onboarding process for our Veteran students so they are prepared to meet with VA personnel to start their paperwork. I provide individual advisement for each student regarding their program plan requirements, what classes they need to take based on their desired number of classes and the requirements for their desired degree program, and future review transfer opportunities. Additionally, I conducted the New Student Orientations each semester and reworked the platform entirely in 2019, creating Power Point presentations for both the New Student Orientation and the Gaucho 101 Roll Out prior to COVID 19 (when all student access and NSOs when online temorarily). I also took the initiative to create a training manual and training tools to support the onboarding of any incoming freshman advisors in the future here at the north campus. I also have been responsible and coordinated enrollment open houses and enrollment fairs to very large groups with a prior job which I feel would help me with needed skill elements listed on the job summary for this position. In addition, I am a Scholarship reviewer for the Maricopa Scholarship Foundation where I review and score student scholarship applications in the areas of academic goals, financial needs, and leadership skills using a scoring rubric. These skills lend themselves both to higher education but also any customer service role.

I believe that the skills used to effectively assist students are the same skills that would allow me to be successful in working within your organization. Previous to my work history in education, I have a broad work history in the private sector working in the financial services area with specific work and knowledge of insurance, benefits, customer service, account management, training, and office management. I welcome the opportunity to discuss with you further how I can be an asset to your team.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth MacLean Huston
