As a Mechanical Engineer deputed in core team of the company, I was a part of team which is responsible for overall Engineering activities for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Fighting systems which ranges from planning Engineering Deliverables in line with project schedule, review designs against local regulations and standards such as ASHRAE, IPC, NFPA etc., prepare, review and obtain approvals of Engineering packages, Engineered shop drawings, select Equipment for Electro-mechanical Systems till obtaining final approvals from client / Engineer for project close out.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Offered substantial contribution in Value Engineering exercise undertaken by the contractor introducing products which are of different makes and origins without compromising the design intent thus reducing the cost and time associated for procurement and execution.

• Significantly Contributed in reducing the costs and time involved to minimal for repetitive core-activities such as separate package preparations, enquiries, technical evaluation for new phases of existing projects where the project specification, equipment capacities are same as that of original and ensured only extensions of existing approvals were in place in close coordination with procurement team. Despite that, wherever the new systems or designs are applicable, required processes were implemented in line with the procedures and policies outlined by the Management / Stake holders.

• Facilitated over the table workshops with project consultants as a directive from Management, to jointly review the technical proposals / drawings prior to submission, such that required approvals are in place at the first instance thus enabling the subsequent processes are executed within the project planning schedule and ensured the hand- over strategies are achieved.

• Identified vendors in the local market through factory visits assessing technical, commercial and logistics capacity of the vendors which shall serve as an alternate / alternative product and facilitated the required approvals from all stake holders.

• Where project consultant’s involvement is not applicable, liaised directly with the Client representatives to obtain approval for materials & equipment to proceed further with executions.
