ATTN: Hiring Manager 5/13/20

My current title is Technical and R&D Manager in a firm that specializes in the supply of engineered industrial raw materials, a position I have held since May 2017. My primary responsibility is management of all aspects of the quality control laboratories of the organization. I am directly responsible for any revisions and updates to the technical quality plans, incoming and produced product information sheets, all departmental procedures, and work instructions. In this role, I have developed a strong understanding of quantitative instrumentation, maintenance requirements, and best practices for their use. I have also developed a risk analysis program for evaluation and verification of all laboratory instruments, among other contributions. I meet weekly with the executive team to review on-going projects, and am champion of all technical concerns. In addition to my current job, I am also an adjunct chemistry instructor at Jackson Community College. Here I have taught one course per semester for the past three years, and find this work to be personally rewarding. I also have eight years of experience working as an estimator/ project manager for an architectural products manufacturer with an internal installation crew. In this role, I was responsible for researching and preparing bids, defining scopes of work, negotiating terms, finalizing contracts, coordinating all drawings and submittals, and scheduling. My education includes a Bachelors of Science in biochemistry, and a Masters of Science in molecular biotechnology. Currently I am pursuing an MBA with concentrations in Management and Information Systems, with anticipated completion in May 2021. It is my plan to contribute to a firm and further develop my skills and abilities in a position that is both challenging and rewarding. Sincerely,

David Pierce
