Seegrid Corporation – Quality Engineering Intern (Summer 2020)
● Improved reliability and safety by developing Nav and Accuracy Test to validate software performance.
● Saved MFG in potential risk by reviewing and inspecting incoming parts, which also significantly decreased labor cost.
● Worked with Software, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to diagnose root causes of components and develop new test fixtures for new PCBAs.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
1) Dr. Lenahan’s Spectrometry Laboratory
Thesis: Electrically Detected Magnet Resonance (EDMR) with Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJTs)
● Understanding the imperfections in BJTs that limit the current gain.
● Working in collaboration with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Caltech, and Cree Corporation to design better transistors.
2) Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) – Propulsion and Structure
● Relayed information between mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
● Used Mulitisim and Ultiboard to design and manufacture custom analog/digital circuits and wiring schematics.
● Collaborated through GitHub to write C++ and Python code and simulate 3-D mesh in Gazebo.
● Developed drivers and switches interfacing different communication protocols to interface sensors with CPU to autonomously run the sub.
● Negotiated with vendors and sponsors to lower cost of project. 3) Developing User Interface for MP3 files.
● Wrote code for MP3 files and digital audio to be played. 4) Developing Software for Race Team
● Developed C++ code for Rasp Pi to display engine, oil, and coolant temp, rpms, speed, and fuel level.
● Developed wiring schematics for communication protocols such as CAN, SERIAL, and TCP. 5) Designing and Manufacturing Tone Rings for Race Team
● Reduced weight by using additive manufacturing to produce tone rings for wheel speed sensing. MANAGE EXPERIENCE
Christopher Rentals (August 2010 – Present)
● Managing and maintaining 15 different properties. o Negotiated contracts with local vendors.
o Listing and showing houses to potential tenants. EDUCATION
