Juxtopia Juxtopia® Engineer Apprentice June 2020 – Present

Utilize Java programming language to develop hand activity recognition algorithms during psychomotor activities.

Created a program to store and organize inertial measurement unit (IMU) data to then apply deep learning algorithms to identify what values correspond to specific human psychomotor actions.

Configured microcontroller sensors to breadboard to produce data outputs logging human hand position and change in position within 3D space while analyzing brain regions responsible for psychomotor learning, retention, and proficiency.

Collaborating with other engineering teams to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.

Biomedical Training Program – Undergraduate Research Assistant June 2018 – August 2018

Examined and elucidated the structure and function of the HIV retrovirus by using nuclear magnetic resonance to understand the dynamics of the capsid spacer-peptide 1 (CA-SP1), the region responsible for the cell becoming mature and infectious.

Established the interactions between CA-SP1 region and maturation inhibitors to prevent cleavage, which allows for maturation to take place.

Ascertained dynamic properties of CA-SP1 with its interaction with maturation inhibitors to develop medications specifically tailored to inhibit the cleavage between CA-SP1.

Undergraduate Research Assistant June 2016 – August 2016

Determined the structure and function of a RNA thermo-sensor, prfA, in order to control the switch mechanism.

Manipulated the switch mechanism responsible for regulating the expression of nine different virus genes in Listeria Monocytogenes, to prevent Listeria Monocytogenes from becoming infectious.

Administrated small and large-scale RNA gel electrophoresis reactions to determine favorable conditions of thermo-sensor gene expression.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. President Treasurer March 2018 – May 2020

Coordinated community-based programs to promote cultural, educational, political, & social awareness to 1,800+ students.

Organized service events to raise money for charities, including one where we raised $500 for Saint Jude's Hospital.

Supervised the maintenance of fiscal records of the chapter, processed checks, handled payments, and deposits of $10,000+.

Managed and delegated tasks to a team of 11 students in order to ensure productive organizational and event planning.

Directed and coordinated philanthropy efforts and major events for 1000+ students and faculty, raising over $400.

Worked as a liaison between and the Paul Robeson Cultural Center (PRCC), to facilitate supportive and positive relationships within the community and to ensure funding for events.

Supported the PRCC in its programing efforts and helped allocate co-sponsorship awards up to $500.
