Professional Experience
7/2017 – 8/2020: Nexus Health Systems ( Nexus Neuro-Recovery Center) Nurse Practitioner- Performs a variety of advanced clinical duties including: assessing and obtaining of detailed history, performing complete physical and neurological examinations on assigned patients/residents by means of interview, health history, physical exams and diagnostic tests, treating acute/chronic medical problems, controlling, and preventing patient illness and disease within the facility under the direction of the medical director. Performs emergency and life-saving procedures. Writes progress notes on patients’ charts indicating patients’ status and treatment procedures performed; maintains other records as required. Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures; interprets results and intervenes appropriately. Prescribes, administers medications or recommend drugs in compliance with Texas Physician Assistant Practice Act requirements and facility guidelines. Recommends other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc. Refers to institution and community resources to meet patient and family needs. Collaborates with physicians and other health care providers, within and outside the facility, in managing acute and long term medical needs of patients. Provides 24-hour medical call coverage on a rotating schedule.

Administered moderate sedation for IVC filter insertion and retrieval, EGD and PEG placement, PICC line insertion, cystoscopy, GT placement, radiofrequency ablation, epidural steroid injection. Designee for vital signs and blood drawn per protocol for pilot safety study of minocycline in treatment of neuropathic pain associated with traumatic spinal cord injury. Chart audit and quality checks. Reclast infusion administration, assisted with interventional pain management procedures, and preceptor for new nursing staff and students.
Nov 2004 – May 2011: C& C Ultra Health Care Providers- Administrator/Director of Nursing. Developed and enforced agency’s patient care quality assurance, policies and procedures. Patients’ assessments, admission and care plan development. Coordinated patient care, supervised and evaluated licensed healthcare professionals; nurses, therapists and MSW. Enforced agency’s professional developments through staff continued education programs. Instructed patients on health practices and evaluated progress.
