I worked the Shipping & Receiving Dock, loading and unloading maintenance department road construction supplies and safety clothing. I operated a propane powered sit-down forklift, electric standup lift and electric standup fork extension lift. I counted the number of items of stock deliveries to ensure that we received the correct amount as stated on delivery invoices. I used the sit down propane forklift for offloading 35 foot to 60 foot aluminum electric street lighting posts from vendor truck and also for moving heavy equipment such as maintenance truck attachments as well as for receiving heavy orders for palletized bags of concrete. I kept the warehouse floors clean and removed warehouse material away from warehouse doors as a standard safety procedure. Also, I filled orders for supplies from maintenance personnel and office personnel. I also took periodic inventory of all warehouse items. Retired in June, 2016.

WAREHOUSE WORKER FORKLIFT OPERATOR 09/1985 to 03/1993

I used a rider jack to load and unload delivery trucks containing pallets of lottery tickets and warehouse supplies. I used an electric standup lift to place pallets of tickets on upper layers of steel racks. Pulled ticket pallets from racks and temporarily placed inventory on floor for easy access by warehouse employees. I also removed shrink wrap from ticket stock to make ticket orders easy to fill by employees. Placed completed ticket orders in delivery bins and rolled bins to shipping dock for pickup by commercial delivery trucks. Also, kept the working area and the equipment clean, checked warehouse floor for obstacles in the area to avoid accidents and assisted workers in ticket order filling. I left this position to accept an open position at the California State Department of Transportation in San Bernardino to be closer to home.
