Experienced Architect with over 22 years’ in diverse construction type, such as: Sports Facilities, Residential, Hotels, High-Rise Offices, Housings, Airport & Education ranging from $5 million to $700 million Project Cost. I have worked with reputed international organizations in Algeria, France and Qatar: Architecture Studio, Société de Conception d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme (SCAU), Atelier Tom Sheehan & Partners (ATSP), Aéroport de Paris Ingénierie (ADPI), BECHTEL Overseas; and currently with ASTAD Project Management.

During my first period with ASTAD Project Management in Doha, Qatar, I worked as a Senior Architect within Construction Management Services (CM) on two Major Projects: Qatar Foundation Headquarters and Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS). During this period, my duties covered all aspects of CM services: Review of Technical Documentation, Validation of Construction activities in accordance with the Contract documents, and the Interface coordination between the Contractors, Designers, and the Client.

In my second period, I worked as as Senior Architect part of Technical & Design Management Team on FIFA 2022 World Cup - Education City Stadium, leading the Architectural review and compliance checking of all Architectural matters to FIFA Compliance and Local Organizing Committee requirements as well as performing interface coordination with other disciplines. Highly skilled in navigating complex situations and with a solid knowledge of the practical application of Construction in general and of Architecture particularly, I have proven the ability to fully manage very complex projects whether in Design and/or in Construction Management to meet critical deadlines and assigned project goals. Document review of Submittals prepared by the contractors (Technical documentations, Pre-qualifications,…etc).

Coordination of multidisciplinary construction activities and the project progress and supporting Upper Management in achieving the overall project goal.

Direct activities and check the work of the contractors that it is in accordance with approved Shop drawings and Construction practices.

Improved the work procedures and construction.

Checked the design development from the Contractors (Design & Build projects) without any deviation from the original design and without any financial impact.

Established a control tool, a log is submitted twice a week to the reviewers in order to reduce the average time of the review cycle by 25%.

Instructed the construction supervisors to report and to raise the issue on the spot to the contractor for possible deficiencies with a proactive supervision of works and coordination with the contractor, this has resulted the optimization of the quality and has reduced the issuance of NCR's and SDR's.

Reporting to the project director for the overall works of the design & Build projects, my main tasks were: During the Design Development: Acting as Design manager, I was engaged to ensure that, the Architecture, MEP, Life Safety, Civil, Structure and Special Systems design developed by the contractor are following our design intent, client requirements, and solving all design related issues. During the Construction: I had to review all architectural documents (Material and Samples, Shop Drawings, Test reports) to approve the Mock-Ups, to manage and to coordinate with other disciplines (MEP, Structure and Civil Engineers) to ensure that their review and approval are in accordance with the approved design. Evaluation of Contractor's proposals on the design and/or on the construction.

Answering to RFIs raised by Contractors.

Managing technical and coordination meetings with Engineers, and ADPi’s Experts and subconsultants.

Preparing Monthly progress reports to the Project Manager with respect to the Architectural activities.

Checking the preparation of contract documents: drawings, details, and bill of quantities are in accordance to the client’s requirements.

In charge of the design & build projects, preparing the projects concept and design development (until Preliminary design) as per the client’s requirements, and in compliance with the design criteria, and approved specifications.

Managing technical meetings with Engineers and implementing their requirements in the design.
