Executive Summary

I hold a B-Tech. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg which I completed in 2011. I also have Certificate in Total Quality Management obtained from the University of South Africa. I am currently employed permanently as a Metallurgist at Rely IntraCast. I have 10(ten) years’ experience in the manufacturing company (investment foundry) with exposure to heat treatment process, melting department, metallurgical laboratory and quality assurance. I have experience working with steel, stainless steel, nonferrous (LM25, LG4 etc.) and high chrome cast iron.

My current responsibilities include:

Continuous improvement of metallurgical processes

Manage laboratory, heat treatment and melting departments

Reviewing quality control plan, compiling of data packs and arrangement of third party witnessing.

Ensure compliance to ISO 9001 in our organisation

Ensuring the products is manufactured according to specifications.

Responsible for material and equipment evaluations to improve quality and or reduce cost

Responsible for material certification

Metallurgical failure investigations and customer complaints by ensuring that NCR (Noncompliance reports) are closed out.

Scrap analysis and reduction

Establish and monitor chemical and physical properties of all metal poured to meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Metallurgical Failure investigation through visual examination, metallographic evaluation, mechanical testing (hardness, tensile test ect) and chemical analysis

Continuous improvement of metallurgical processes to reduce costs

Scrap analysis and utilization of problem solving mechanism to reduce the scrap

To develop and manage laboratory(metallography, hardness, chemistry) duties to ensure that customer requirements are met and also the test are carried out in an effectively and controlled manner
