My position as a SE included all technical aspects of developing a computer installation, actual installation of the hardware and operating system, system utilities and application products as needed. I also trained the personnel to operate and understand the AS/400 computer system.
As a S.E. I designed and developed computer applications, wrote the software programs and trained the customer to use the application. I wrote programs for the IBM S/36 in RPG II and for the IBM S/38 and IBM AS/400 in RPG III. I installed the IBM AS/400 and migrated IBM/38, IBM/36's to the AS/400.

Lead Senior Programmer
I was hired to help on the conversion from the DEC PDP 11-50 in Chicago to the on-site Honeywell 750. With the conversion completed in June of l981, I became project leader to develop an on-line data entry system. I designed the on-line system using the terminal control commands on the Honeywell 750 to incorporate validation, accuracy, and cost saving manners in which to process the research data. All programs were written in COBOL.

Data Processing Manager
As the Data Processing Mgr., I planned and directed all data processing functions. I provided all the administrative, technical and management directions for the entire data processing department including data processing operations, equipment installation, software, program development, documentation, communications, system administration, vendor contracts and related systems. In September of 1980, Fountain Sand & Gravel installed an IBM System/34 to replace the IBM System/3-10. I, alone, converted all programs, OCL, data files and designed the on-line system for the System/34. This conversion was from a batch card input system to an on-line data entry system via display stations (CRT's).

I left the Colorado State Hospital to take a position at Fountain Sand & Gravel.
