2. Evaluate electrical systems, products, components and applications by designing, conducting and applying knowledge of electricity and materials.

3. Confirm system and components capabilities by testing methods and testing properties.

4. Inspect completed installations and observe operations.

5. Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance

6. Check the quality of machine, equipment or plant maintenance operations, including those carried out by third parties.

7. Co-ordination of repair activities in the event of serious damage to plants or facilities

Title: Design and Implementation of WCDMA System using digital up/down convertor .

Scope of the project: This project is based on the implementation of a digital down convertor(DDC) and digital up convertor(DUC) for a single carrier WCDMA system. The DDC and DUC are complex in nature. The implementation of DDC is simple because it does not require mixers or filters. The WCDMA digital down convertor(DDC) and digital up convertor(DUC) reference designs demonstrate how system architects and hardware designers can accelerate the design of DUC and DDC functions of WCDMA.

The designs are based on the DSP Builder advanced block-set technology and illustrate how the tool significantly increases productivity while delivering high performance, cost effective digital IF designs. Xilinx system generator and Xilinx ISE are used to develop the hardware circuit for the FPGA. Both the circuits are verified on the virtex-4 FPGA.
