Product Recommendation System
In the E-Commerce industry, it is very important to please and satisfy the customers by providing better promotions, easy identification of products and an easy access of website. In addition to these, it is equally important to have an effective recommendation model that can bring incremental revenues. This can be achieved only when the recommendation model can understand the customer purchase patterns and recommend the products to potential buyers.
Through this project, I am trying to achieve the below recommendation engines on the sales dataset
a)provide a list of top selling items and most popular items
b)provide a list of top selling items and most frequently purchased items of a customer
c)recommend the items to the customer, based on the similar purchasing pattern of other customers (Kendall Correlation)
d)recommend items to customer, based on the item in the view
Responsibilities:
Developed Python programs to perform Data Cleaning and Exploratory Data Analysis on dataset.
Identified the right algorithm based on the pattern of data and developed programs to understand similarities among Products and Customers.
Created .pkl files with results of data analyzed, which are used to publish the results on to website.
Developed Flask web framework in Python to publish results on to website.
Created HTML files to format the website and used basic CSS for page styling.
Deployed the application on Heroku platform and integrate with a website to extract the results.
Built the functionality by following Agile Methodology and RESTful API services.
Environment/Tools: Python 3.7, Jupyter, Flask, Heroku, Tableau, HTML, Windows 10, MS Office, MySQL.
