Increased his profit margin by 15%, by adjusted all bid pricing, adding profit margin to each subcontract and locked in material pricing.
I have found by using a laptop or tablet and printer in my truck I can better maintain the office to job site communications for subcontractors. I print all necessary specs and place them on the windows in each room.
I meet on site at the beginning of each start with subs to go over their scope of work and make sure they understand safety measures they need to adhere by. I also make sure they are aware of any change orders.
I make sure that all clients are communicated with on the progress of their home at least once a week. I will meet the client on any scheduled day to address any concerns they may have. I schedule all inspections after I have checked to see if we are ready. If possible, I like to meet the inspector on site. I stay up on Building and energy codes and have had the inspector hold a job up for the wrong call.
At the end of the job I walk the house and locate and substandard work, identify it and bring the appropriate sub to make repair. Then when everything is repaired, I meet with the clients and walk the house.
