Detailed Job Descriptions

Set up the examinations rooms ensuring that all necessary equipment’s are ready.

Preparation patient for diagnostic imaging exam

Identifying patient correctly before any procedure.

Take through and accurate patient medical histories.

Assisting radiologists and physicians in the process of understanding and evaluating the images.

Explain procedure to patient.

Positions patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately radiographed.

Prepare solutions for patients in contrast.

Ensuring that all patients who undergo contrast has a signed informed consent.

Using radiation safety measures and protection devices.

Preventing exposure from certain areas of the patient’s body so they do not expose to radiation.

Position radiographic equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of a patient’s body.

Measure the thickness of the section to be radiographed.

Adjust controls on the x-ray machine to produce radiographs of the appropriate density, detail and contrast of the body part.

Keep patients records confidentially.

Request for the supplies and equipment.

Practice the principles called as-low-reasonably-achievable (ALARA) dose for each radiographic image made.
