Supplemental Instruction Leader August 2018 – May 2019

The goal of supplement instruction is to show fellow peers how to be a superb student, demonstrate to the students adequate study methods and finally reinforce information taught in the classroom in a different and informal way to help students understand difficult information.

Supplement instruction is only offered in classes with the highest: drop, withdraw, and fail rate.

I supplemented instructed Cellular Biology, BIO-210.

My duties entailed a training session prior to the semester starting, attend every class, lesson plan, create study guides and activities pertaining to the material, and to keep rapport with my superiors and professor.

Undergraduate Summer Research Fellow May-July 2018

I was honored and privileged to work under Dr. Christian D. Nelson, aiming to use a new method site specifically label JC virus with a fluorophore. In addition, the other experiment I worked on aimed to create a novel way to track JC Virus infection in live SVG-A cell line.

During my time working I have mastered maintaining a SVG-A cell line, transfecting SVG-A cells, SDS-Page analysis, g418 selection of SVG-A cells, A280 analysis, denscetrometry analysis, pi-clam reaction conditions, purifying proteins using HPLC and spin column, growing, transforming and selecting bacterial cultures.
