Design and Fabrication of Four-Wheel Bowling Machine
Scope : Academic main project
Type : Group project with 4 members
Venue : MES College of Engineering
Date : 2019-2020
Designed a bowling machine which uses a four-wheel system compared to existing single, two and three-wheel systems.
Four-wheel system provides capability to introduce extra spinning to the ball. While we spin the ball through air, we can make special deliveries like googly, doosra, carrom ball etc.
Four separate motors are used to drive each wheel. An electric circuit is provided for controlling the speed of motor. A tube is provided between the wheels for passage of cricket ball. When all the wheels rotate in desired direction, then ball move towards the batsmen.
Though we have designed and presented the system very well, we couldn’t finish the project due to Covid-19 pandemic. We hope to finish it in the future once everything settles and time permits.
Responsibilities
Explore existing 3-wheel bowling machine and suggest improvements.
Involved in design of bowling machine with other group members.
Procurement of materials from different parts of South India.
Assembling the product (We couldn’t finish).
Preparation and presentation of the design for assessment.
Motorized Smart Turning Mechanism
Scope : Academic mini project
Type : Group project with 4 members

Designed a smart turning mechanism that allows efficient turning in large connected vehicles like trucks, trailers and AC buses.
The design features an interlinked turning mechanism which uses a single motor to power turning of entire vehicle and all its trailing carts so that the trailing cart follows exact same path of the main cart.
The mechanism consumes very less time to turn compared to conventional turning mechanisms. It also enables to do maneuvers easily in tight spaces.

Prepared and presented a paper on Hyperplane. Hyperplane is a hypersonic vehicle that travels at least five times faster than the speed of sound.
Industrial Visit
Keltron tool room research and training center, Malappuram Kerala
Fully equipped facility which offer training in Hi-tech machines such as CNC Lathes, High precision and high-speed Vertical Machining Centers, CNC wire EDM, Jig Grinder, Lathe and Milling Trainers.
During our visit we got familiarized with several high-tech machines such as CNC lathes, high precision and high-speed vertical machining centers. Got certificate of attendance for our visit.
Matsyafed net factory, Cochin Kerala
Matsyafed net factory does manufacturing of fishing net and accessories to help the fishermen to reduce their capital investment.
During our visit we got familiarized with different machines and boilers used in the factory. Got certificate of attendance for our visit.
