I began my career in the healthcare field as a nurse tech in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital during the last year as a student in Darton College’s Associate of Nursing program. After completion of my ASN degree I begin my first position as a registered nurse at Tift Regional Medical Center. I was trained as a charge nurse after being employed for only five months due to my exceptional skills in the care of others. I then relocated to a different city and obtained a position in the Pediatric Department at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Due to consistent low census, I obtained a position at Archbold Medical

Center on the Intravenous Therapy Team. For three years, I worked as a registered nurse in the Postoperative Anesthesia Care Unit. Beginning in April 2017, I accepted my first position as a nurse practitioner for Tift Regional Medical Center at their Community Health Clinic. Here I am involved in identifying, evaluating, and treating appropriate patients as an independent practitioner. Most of our patients are indigent patients and have many social needs. Also, I picked up many shifts in our Express Care department here I provided care to mostly pediatric patients ages 6 months-18 years. As of July 2019, I am employed as a nurse practitioner at the Veteran’s Affairs as I feel this allows me the opportunity to give back to those who served our country.

Working in various areas in the healthcare field has provided me with many skills that enhance my ability to provide high-quality care to all patients.
