Dear Sir or Madam:

With this letter, I would like to express my interest in the I.B sales position at JP Markets.

I am currently filling one of the administrative positions within the company JP Markets. Having done some research on the I.B sales position, I know I will be the best fit for the duties and expectations of the position, especially considering that I do have some sales experience within the financial field. I will thus not only be the best fit, but will also be able to excel within the position, therefore ultimately becoming an asset for JP Markets. I have decided to apply for this position as it will help me pave the path for my prospective career. Moreover, I consider this position a great opportunity to reach new heights within the company itself.

In addition to career related reasons, I would like to apply for this position for financial gain. I have recently become a father and would like to provide enough money for my family to sustain ourselves. I would like to be able to not only save money for my important things that my son needs and will need such as his education, but also spend money on things that will make him happy such as going to the zoo and cartoon conventions. In addition to things I would like to do in the future, I am currently buying food and certain medicine that he needs to stay healthy and this also take a chunk out of my budget. My deepest concern will be that I will not be able to continue supporting him to the best of my capabilities. My father, who lives alone, as my mother (his wife) has recently passed, resides in Vereeniging. I am not able to visit him as much as I would like because I depend on my girlfriends car to travel to the Gautrain and we use the very same car weekends to go do activities such as grocery shopping. As a result of using the car so much during the week, I am not able to fill up the car to travel to Vereeniging. Furthermore, I continuously have to ask my father for financial help, even though he himself is struggling financially. I would eventually like to help him out financially when he needs me to. My girlfriend is currently unemployed, so I am also supporting her financially as she is counting on me to provide for both her and my son. As it pertains to my own needs and wants, my current financial status does not allow me to move out or even buy clothing for myself, I am currently shuffling between two pants when I come to work as I cannot afford new ones. I feel bad knowing I need to do better not only for them but for myself.

This sales position will allow me to save and eventually attain the goals I have set out for myself, while still allowing me to enjoy life in the process. I am currently paying rent where I am staying and with my current financial status it puts a lot of strain on me as most of my money goes towards public transport so that I can get to work. I am hardly able to buy myself food for lunch when I cannot bring lunch from home, which forces me to take snacks to sustain myself during working hours. Infact, my manager started buying food for the employees every Friday which helped me out because I started to look forward to the food. I am a very conservative person and will thus not show that I am struggling. In essence my main concern is that I may not be able to provide for my family as much as I would like to.

If I do get the position that I am applying for I will work extremely hard to ensure that I exceed the expectations of my superiors as I can be seen during my time as an administrator at JP Markets. My ambition is to master any position that I am in, while learning as much as I can. I am also able to handle pressure well, especially when it relates to the needs of a client/s. During my time at JP Markets, I focused on gaining knowledge about the business and focused on becoming an asset for the company. I always pride myself on being available to assist clients to the best of my abilities. My main objective from the start of my career at JP Markets was to become an account manager.
