VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
Partners in Development
Volunteer- medical team lead Port Au Prince, Haiti 2017
This was a medical mission trip where I traveled with a fellow acute care NP, pain specialist RN, and 15 students from a local college in Maine. The medical team would serve the community within the compound, where we were residing, or host a travel clinic to those without access to transportation. It was a powerful and deeply saddening experience that reminded me that although we may serve the poor within our country there is much work and much need outside of our perceived boundaries.
Good Samaritan Medical Mission La Roma, DR 2015
Volunteer
This project involved a group of volunteer NP students traveling to the DR to work in the sugar field communities, bateys, providing medical care to those in need. This experience was a long term goal of mine as well as an important part of my reasoning to become a nurse practitioner.
Boston Cares Boston, MA 2008- current
Volunteer, Project and Team Leader
I have been actively involved in this organization for many years and it is a vital part of who I am. I am particularly interested in environmental conservation work as well as inner city community improvement programs.
