●Managed common gynecologic complaints, including abnormal menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, fibroids, cystocele/rectocele/uterine prolapse, and sexually transmitted diseases. Performed pap smears, pelvic exams, breast exams, and educated patients about birth control and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
●Managed obstetric patients from first to third trimester. Performed both transvaginal and transabdominal obstetric pelvic ultrasounds and assisted in both vaginal and cesarean sections.
●Assisted in anterior and posterior colporrhaphy, urethral sling placement, hysterectomies, tubal ligations and colposcopies.
3/4/19- 3/29/19 Primary Care I – Family Healthcare Network, Visalia Bridge
●Managed acute illnesses in an outpatient urgent care setting.
●Learned the valuable skill of relying on history and physical exam to evaluate a patient as advanced imaging and laboratory studies were not available.
●Assessed the urgency of the complaint and determined the best location for care of the patient. If necessary, the patient was referred to the emergency room. Often the disposition was to follow up lab and radiology findings with their primary care provider.

●Managed acute illnesses, such as DKA, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, sepsis, nephrolithiasis that were often complicated by multiple chronic comorbidities on a medical admitting team.
●Coordinated patient care with the appropriate consults within the hospital network for optimal medical care.
●Followed the progress and improvement of patient symptoms, laboratory studies, and radiologic findings from time of admission to discharge.
5/13/19 – 6/7/19 Primary Care III – Tulare walk- In Family Clinic
●Managed patients of all ages with various chronic and acute medical complaints in a longitudinal family practice care setting. Frequently evaluated patients with obesity, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hypothyroidism, anemias, anxiety/depression, musculoskeletal complaints, URI, and UTIs.

8/19/19 – 9/13/19 General Surgery- Community Regional Medical Center
●Managed patients on a general surgery admitting team. Assisted in elective surgeries such as hernia repairs and in emergent surgeries such as cholecystectomy. Witnessed laparoscopic, robotic, and open surgical techniques.
●Evaluated surgical candidates in a clinical setting, and managed patients postoperatively on the floor. Assisted in wound cleanings, bandage changes, and coordinated patient care through recovery.
9/16/19- 10/11/19 Emergency Medicine- Kaiser Permanente Modesto Medical Center
●Evaluated emergent conditions of various levels of acuity. Learned the valuable skill of triaging patients. Managed multiple complaints including abdominal and pelvic pain, nausea/vomiting, musculoskeletal injuries, chest pain, shortness of breath, URI, pneumonia, and skin infections. Assisted in the care of medical emergencies such as myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolisms, cerebrovascular accidents, and sepsis.
●Performed I&Ds, laceration repairs, slit lamp examinations and tonometry, and bedside abdominal and soft tissue ultrasounds.

10/21/19- 11/15/19 Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit- Mercy General Hospital (Dignity)
●Managed various acute and chronic respiratory and cardiac conditions such as ACS, CAD, valvular disorders, heart failure, cardiac tamponade, pulmonary hypertension, hemo/pneumothoraces and aortic dissections in an intensive care unit. These patients often had complications such as pneumonia, sepsis, and shock with multiorgan failure. They often required multiple pressors, CRRT, ECMO, balloon pumps, SWANs, LVADs, Impellas, pacemakers, tube thoracostomies, and respiratory/ventilatory support.
●Participated in the operating room of cardiothoracic surgeries, including CABGs (assisted in vein grafts of both radial and saphenous veins), valve replacements, aortic root replacements, LVAD insertions, and tracheostomy placements.
●Coordinated the complex needs of these patients with multiple different subspecialists such as electrophysiologists, cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, nephrologists, and infectious disease specialists.
●Participated in obtaining vascular access and arterial line placement. Interpreted EKGs, ABGs, hemodynamic measurements from SWAN catheters, and routine labs.
11/18/19 – 12/13/19 Internal Medicine- Creekside Medical Dental
●Prevented, diagnosed, and managed various medical conditions effecting adults from acute complaints to chronically ill patients with multiple comorbidities.
