He was also responsible for obtaining approvals for the mechanical drawings from the local authorities.

Hotel Kempinski Mall of Emirates, Dubai, UAE for MAF Erwin was responsible for the design and assist in the post contract supervision of the mechanical system for the refurbishment of the Hotel’s Meeting rooms, Board rooms, Pool Cabana’s, and Guest rooms. Mall Deira City Centre, Dubai, UAE for MAF

Erwin acted as mechanical engineer for the Deira City Centre Redevelopment, HVAC Upgrade and Chiller Replacement Projects. Erwin has led the condition survey which is the recording of the existing circumstances of the mechanical services. As part of his role he produced the latest As-built drawing plans and schematics for the client. The Southern Dunes Hotel #14 (The Red Sea Development Company, KSA) The Southern Dunes Hotel #14 (SDH-14) is located in the Red Sea development in a coastal area bounded by two cities (Umluj and Alwajh) on the west coast of Saudi Arabia, with an approximate area of 28,000 km shoreline. The project consists of the main Oasis with the shaded canopy structures,80 keys hotel (comprising 40 No. of standard rooms, 40 No. of 1, 2, 3,and 4 bedrooms villas) in spread-out clusters, individual swimming pools for each villa as well as a public swimming pool facilities, specialty restaurants, and central utilities plant to serve the hotel plot.

Erwin lead the mechanical design of the Building Services in accordance with the Project Criteria, with current and applicable Regulations and Codes, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, and with current international codes, standards, guidelines and recognized international best practices. The development shall be served by 5 no’s air-cooled chillers (with one standby) along with chilled water thermal storage tanks located within the central utility plant / chiller yard. Thermal chilled water storage tanks are sized to meet 50% of the peak night-time cooling load. During night-time, the chillers will be limited to operate to only 30% of the demand capacity with rest the load supported from the chilled water thermal storage. 3

Aquaventure Waterpark for Atlantis The Palm (Dubai) Aquaventure Waterpark Phase 3 is the extension of the existing ‘Aquaventure’ water park at Atlantis The Palm (ATP), to create a third phase of the development with additional facilities for visitors. The new phase of the water park will offer additional slides, a river ride, cliff dive experience and the accompanying retail and support facilities. The stipulated development area is 22,000 m and will include land reclamation undertaken as part of a separate contract. The project is located within the Palm, adjacent to the existing Aquaventure water park location and Dolphin Bay, Atlantis The Palm. Erwin in the capacity of senior mechanical engineer was involved in the mechanical design requirements within the buildings on the Phase 3 development of the water park, Aquaventure. This will include a white box fit out of the retail premises and within the specialist plant rooms.

The Emirates pavilion is spread across 3,300sqm. with three-storey multi-function structure is in close proximity to the UAE Pavilion and Al Wasl Pavilion; and has the capacity to accommodate more than 56,000 visitors per month. There is an auditorium for speaker sessions and industry events on the second floor and the third storey has a dedicated sky garden for visitors. While the 7 numbers operation pavilions shall be distributed across theEXPO 2020 site to provide public washroom toilets, clinics, and information center for the visitors. In the capacity of a senior mechanical engineer he is involved in project design from concept stage to design development and issue for construction. The building is provided with the Variable Refrigerant Flow technology which uses refrigerant as the cooling medium. By operating in at varying speeds it works only at the needed rate allowing for substantial energy savings at load conditions. 4

Erwin was responsible for the design of the mechanical system for the development of a high-end high-rise residential tower with a gross floor area of around 20,000m .Theresidential floors are comprised of studio apartments, 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom apartments and 4-bedroom duplex apartments. VOX Cinema Fujairah City Centre, Fujairah, UAE for MAF Erwin acted as mechanical engineer for the construction stage of the fit-out of this 11 screen Cinema in Fujairah, UAE. As part of his role, Erwin further enhanced his design coordination skills as this project was challenging due to the constraints on plant space and base build limitations, but Erwin worked in close coordination with the overall design team to ensure that practical and economical solutions were found Palm Canal Towers, Dubai, UAE for Nakheel

A 300,000m developments at Dubai Waterfront consisting of 4 residential towers and 2 office towers as well as large food and beverage and retail areas, each tower ranged between 30 and 55 floors. Erwin worked on this project from Concept stage through to Scheme stage and primarily worked on the plant space allocations for the office and residential towers.

Jeddah Cornice Tower, Jeddah, KSA

Jeddah Cornice Tower, an iconic development on the Red Sea Cornice is leader of a new generation of developments in Jeddah, KSA. The building is a 57-storey office tower. Erwin worked on this project from Concept stage through to Detail design stage and worked on the design of the mechanical and ventilation system of the tower.

Petroleum Institute Research Centre, Abu Dhabi, UAE for ADNOC PIRC is a Research Centre building with laboratories and offices in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Erwin worked on this project from Concept stage through to Tender stage and worked on the building services design of the offices and laboratories. Erwin gained excellent experience designing to petrochemical standards and complex laboratory ventilation pressure regimes. Furthermore, he also led the sustainability documentation for the Abu Dhabi UPC Estidama certification of the project. ADNOC Explosive Storage Facilities, Abu Dhabi, UAE for ADNOC The project is a site development for storage facilities with accommodation and offices in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Erwin worked on this project from Concept stage through to Tender stage and worked on the building services design. Erwin gained excellent experience designing to explosive storage facilities standards. 5

Zirku Helicopter Maintenance Hangar, Abu Dhabi, UAE for ADNOC Erwin designed the building services system from Concept stage through to Tender stage for a Helicopter Maintenance Hangar. Erwin was the Mechanical Engineer on this project and worked closely with the project manager to meet the project requirements.

The project is an 18th storey’s Hospital building with1, 248 beds, located in United Kingdom. Erwin was a part of the design team that are commissioned to provide detail design for the hospital. Erwin was part of a team to design the mechanical services for this office building. Erwin produced the mechanical calculations and layout drawings for the building. He also gained experience in utilizing international software such as Bentley Hevacomp for the mechanical calculations that was a client requirement.
