E & I
● During my 3 years 9 months, with Barrick gold I have completed multiple classes, training courses along with my apprenticeship for Electrical and Instrumentation.
● Excellent troubleshooting, motor controls, plc programming, and Ignition Designer skills.
● Here at Barrick we used all Allen Bradley 1756 controllers, I/O, D/O, A/I cards etc..
● Logix 5000, Rockwell automation, Studio 5000 Logic Designer, Control Logix System Fundamentals.
● 2 year Electrical and Instrumentation college course
● VFD p.m.'s, various instrument p.m.'s, Cleaning off ph. probes, VFD air filters, blowing out MCC's and the buckets, disconnects, we had to make sure our stack testing probes were always clean and reading accurately, as any deviation being reported to the state or to the board on negative or bad air quality coming from our stacks can be a very bad situation, not only for being fined for falling out of compliance but polluting the air or bringing the quality of the air down is the last thing we want to do as a company and are about leaving the world better than we found it.
● I received on the job training along with electrical trouble shooting on multiple pieces of heavy equipment including but not limited to
● Haul truck, water truck, forklift, scissor lift, man deck, U.G tractor with boom, U.G man lift, U.G jumbos, muckers, drills, blades.
● Extremely comfortable working with cat 5 and cat 6 and some fiber used for our U/G fiber panels and cameras for paste plant. I would pull, hang, and terminate a few hundred feet of cat 6 daily.
● Cable pulling, hanging and terminating from 16Awg 2 wire twisted pair 24vdc to 500 kcmill 4160/13,800 voltage.
● I have studied hard and paid close attention to electrical trouble shooting. Keeping up on housekeeping throughout the day along with completing my tasks in a timely and safely manner.
● While at Barrick I was able to learn a lot about Level transmitters, thermocouples, rtd's, pressure differential transmitters, pressure transmitters as Barrick is the first place I worked in the E & I field, as they are the ones who put me through my apprenticeship and schooling. I learned a lot about motor controls, start/stop stations, running feedback, Digital inputs/outputs, analog inputs/outputs between school and working hands on at Barrick. I learned how to use my electrical tools here, 789 Fluke process meter with 4-20Ma loop power, check voltage, MA, but also be able to supply a transmitter with power and check the Ma output from the sensor.
