PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Chief Engineer: May 2015 – present

Responsibilities:

Over-seeing the entire Marine engineering department on the vessel,

Responsible for the maintenance and operation of all engineering equipment on-board the vessel,

Ensure that the engine room is suitable for inspection by Coastguard Authorities, Class & PSC,

Ensure that there is a surplus of fuel and spare parts,

Work within a small team to ensure that all maintenance is completed efficiently and in depth,

Determine the volume of oil, fuel and lube required for each voyage and ensure that substantial quantities of each is on board,

Deliver general daily operation of the engine room to my primary assistant.

Experience:

Sailed on Log Carrier, Handy Size, Panamax and Cape Size Bulk Carriers, Container ship, Chemical Tanker. Also sailed on Product Tankers in the ranks of Fourth Engineer & Third Engineer.

Worked on Electronic Engine, MAN B&W & Sulzer Main Engines.

Cleared PSC inspections, Internal Audits, External Audits, Owners Inspection, Class Surveys, with NIL deficiency.

Second Engineer: Feb 2011- June 2014

Personally responsible to chief engineer & ensuring engine room is properly manned,

Clear briefing done before a job is carried out, & proper distribution of job,

Ensure all engineers and crew, practice safe working procedures and wear safety gear at all times.

Guidance and proper training of juniors.

Ensure everyone understands the consequence of pollution.

Responsible for compilation of all work done for future records.

Observation of shore personnel.

Ensure engine room is maintained in clean, painted and sanitary condition.

Ensure all tools and stores are kept safely and location recorded.

Worked on MAN B&W, Mitsubishi Akasaka, Sulzer Main Engines.
