I am currently employed as a full time Physician Assistant

I work with 2 Orthopedic surgeons. I have worked with this group in the past and share duties now with a Nurse Practitioner and another Physician Assistant in the office/hospital setting. We currently use Cattails CMR, Athena, and Meditech electronic health record. In the clinic I perform exam techniques, H&P’s, write pre/post operative orders, give injections, order and read x rays and imaging studies, order and review lab results, prescribe medication, suturing and suture removal, applying splints and casting. I have over 20 years of experience as a surgical technologist/ first assistant in surgery and I am the primary midlevel that assists/closes surgical cases and go to surgery as needed. At our practice we see and treat total joints, upper extremity, lower extremity, fracture care, and trauma. One of the providers I work with also does sports medicine. On the hospital side of this position I perform daily rounding duties, perform H&P’s, write admission and discharge orders, order lab or radiology testing, prescribe medication, work with discharge planning. I also provide educational teaching to our patients for medication management and surgical care and see most patients for their follow up and post operative appointments. I am also in rotation with our APCs and 2 MD's to cover 1 week a month of clinic and ER phone call coverage. We had provided outreach on a regular basis in the past and currently I am the only provider who goes twice a week to our outreach clinics and works independently to continue to provide care to our rural communities.

I had worked in the past as needed in our local ER/UC department through Eagle River Hospital. I examine and treat patients seen in the urgent care setting including pediatrics to geriatrics. I review x-rays, imaging studies, lab ordering and reviewing, prescribe medications for proper treatment, suturing, injections, apply splints and casts, repair lacerations.
