EAST, Miami – Swire Hotels Property November 2019 – March 2020

EAST, Miami is the first Swire Hotels property in North America and the third hotel under the EAST brand, following the openings of EAST in Hong Kong and Beijing. EAST, Miami is situated on top of Brickell City Centre, conveniently connected to popular districts such as Wynwood, the Design District, and South Beach. The hotel has the popular Uruguayan restaurant, Quinto la Huella, a rooftop bar called Sugar (named two years in a row as the best rooftop bar in America by Conde Nast Traveler). EAST, Miami also has a lobby café bar called Domain and a pool and deck station that has an extensive menu of refreshing beverages and tantalizing snacks from its signature eatery, Quinto La Huella.

The resort is in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. It is themed for visitors to feel like they are spending a night in New Orleans in the far south. From the majestic white-columned mansions of Magnolia Bend to the picturesque cottages of Alligator Bayou, delight in this elegant setting, reminiscent of romantic, rural Louisiana. It is 10-minute walk to the Sassagoula River to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, famous for its southern culinary specialties such as gumbo, jambalaya and beignets. It is 15 minutes from Disney Springs. It has two restaurants: Boatwright's Dining Hall and Riverside Mill Food Court where I performed my duties.

Duties:

Dispatch of food to guests through the 5 stations at the restaurant, which are pastry, grill, pizza, salads, and pasta.

Filling items onto the tray.

Record inventory for spoilage.

Use of the fryer, industrial kitchen equipment, manual cash handling and computerized.

Up-sold additional menu items, beverage and desserts to increase restaurant profits.
