PROJECTS
INVESTIGATION ON HARMONIC MITIGATION TECHNIQUES FOR POWER QUALITY ENHANCEMENT
Role : Support
Period : 30/08/2017 to 12/12/2017
The research on power quality improvement techniques were studied and effective methods to reduce the Total Harmonic Distortion(THD) were analysed. FUZZY LOGIC CONTROLLER BASED POWER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT USING SHUNT ACTIVE FILTER
Role : Leader
Period : 26/12/2017 to 24/04/2018

The addition of fuzzy logic controller with the conventional Unified Power Quality Controller(UPQC) redued the voltage sag levels in the output voltage and also improved the power factor. After the addition of Shunt Active Power Filter(SAPF) the harmonic currents were reduced to a very lower level. System without SAPF the % of THD was 29.51% and the system with SAPF the %THD was 5.0 % which is under IEE 519 standards. ANALYSIS AND COMPARISON OF CONVENTIONAL METHODS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TECHNIQUES TO SOLVE ECONOMIC DISPATCH PROBLEMS
Role : support
Period : 28/12/2017 to 18/04/2018
The main objective of the project was to schedule the committed generating unit's outputs so as to meet the load demand at minimum operating cost while satisfying all unit and system equality and inequality constraints. CONTROLLER FOR CHARGING ELECTRIC VEHICLES USING SOLAR ENERGY Role : Leader
Period : 15/12/2018 to 29/04/2019
As a part of the go-green initiative in India to reduce the pollution and also to promote the use of Solar Energy powered Electric Vehicles the project was done. The concept is the usage of solar panel to generate electricity and store in battery with the help of DC- DC convertors, the vehicles are plugged in to get power from battery bank for charging also an inverter is provided to convert the direct current ( DC) from the battery to alternating current (AC) and the converted AC power is fed to the AC power grid or other electrical appliances.
PROTOTYPE MODEL OF SOLAR CHARGING STATION FOR CHARGING ELECTRIC VEHICLES Role : Lead
Period : 23/12/2019 to 30/04/2020
This project was started when the Indian government made it clear that any individual is free (de-licenced) to set up an electric charging station throughout the country, provided the station meets the standards of the power ministry. The tentative cost of charging, including the cost of electricity (as per DERC tariff) and the overheads (parking charges, recovery of equipment cost, etc.) will be between Rs 160 and Rs 200 for a full charge. Which means the consumers will pay Rs 1.60 to Rs 1.80 per km. Thus to promote the go- green india initiative and to indulge people towards the Electric charging methods the research was done.
