My name is John Plageman. I am a Certified Public Accountant with over 40 years’ experience. As I looked towards retirement with my former firm, I realized that I was not ready to end my career. I have a passion for people as well as accounting which I feel is a unique combination. Upon my retirement from WHT, I was leaving clients I have had for over 40 years including second generations.
Most of my experience has been in the healthcare industry but I have added additional certifications as a Certified Valuation Analyst, Certified Fraud Examiner and a Forensic Valuation Accountant. My undergraduate is a BS in Accounting and I completed my MBA in May of 2020. Over my 40 years of experience, I started working for an experienced accountant, had my own firm and then worked at the partner level for the past 25 years. During that time, I was responsible for managing employees, delegating work, purchasing equipment, upgrading technology and taking care of the financial details of running a company. We merged our firm with a larger firm in 2012 and went to a much larger scale of operations with assigned areas of expertise.
I am interested in continuing my accounting profession in the public sector. I feel that I have the expertise and knowledge that come with working with others, running my own firm and being a part of a larger operation.
