● Acquired knowledge of Portugese culture and their health care
● Observed surgeries in general surgery, orthopedics, and ambulatory(outpatient) care

FAU MARINE LAB AT GUMBO LIMBO NATURE CENTER BOCA RATON, FL August 2019–August 2020 Undergraduate Direct Independent Research with Dr. Jeanette Wyneken and Emily Turla
● Cared for research turtles by feeding them, netting their tanks, making food, etc.
● Performed physical exams on turtles each week
● Identified turtles from their intake and release pictures
● Talked and explained to the public about the FAU Marine lab and what research is done, how the turtles are taken care of, etc.

● Leatherback husbandry
● Cared for leatherback hatchlings by feeding, cleaning/netting tanks, making food, etc.

● Worked with Mrs. Donna Wentz as a student aid at Pelican Island Elementary School during their summer school program. Made copies of worksheets, assisted the children with any questions they had on their work, organized Mrs. Wentz’s classroom, etc.

● Volunteered at Tomorrow’s Rainbow as a Stable attendant/Horse groomer. Once a week, manure was picked up in the field then horses were groomed. Afterwards, the horses were let out into an open field so their stalls could be cleaned.
