Represented clients in problem solving courts, helping to build the DIVERT (felony drug court) program.

Presented trainings to interns and attorneys.

Argued the case of Walton v. People (18SC0084) before the Colorado Supreme Court, obtaining a favorable ruling.

Handled a large caseload with little supervision, representing clients in every kind of case, from financial crimes to homicide. Assigned to district court after six months in county court.

Directed investigation by outlining investigation duties on each case.

Negotiated plea agreements and dismissals in addition to trying dozens of cases.

Advised clients on consequences of conviction as well as collateral consequences.

Consulted with numerous expert witnesses in a variety of felony cases.

Responsible for writing misdemeanor appeals and post-conviction motions.

Teaching Assistant, University of Colorado (Jan. – May 2015): Assisted 1Ls in a Criminal Courtroom Observation class by organizing court-watching experiences and walking them through the criminal court process.

Colorado Innocence Project, University of Colorado Law School (Aug. 2013 - March 2014): Reviewed applications from Colorado inmates who claim innocence of the crime for which they are incarcerated.

Byron R. White Center, University of Colorado Law School (Aug. 2013 - May 2015): Taught high school students about the First Amendment as part of the Constitution Day outreach project and also helped to organize an annual moot court competition for them. Spent a semester teaching a high school civics class about the Fourth Amendment, later helping them to analyze and argue a Moot Court problem.
