MQ Architect/Administrator
Primary function was to Manage all aspects of the MQ Messaging Infrastructure.
Architected, designed and implemented Tradeweb’s entire MQ infrastructure and post trade messaging process from inception to present time, including all aspects of HA and DR. High emphasis on FT as we cleared approximately 800 billion daily over MQ. We leveraged Point-to-point, Pub/Sub, and Clustered messaging as well as MQ MFT. Performed all day-to-day MQ functions including support, troubleshooting, API support, defining MQ Objects, OAM Security, Installations, Upgrades, performance tuning, best practices, documentation, etc. Automated and scripted MQ activities wherever possible in an effort to standardize and document the process to further streamline and simplify.
Managed and implemented several MQ consolidations projects due to acquisitions, re-architecting where necessary, yielding significant saving, simplifying and streamlining the overall MQ architecture.
Developed MQ Self service system in SharePoint for end user to easily lookup configuration and other vital MQ related information.
Installed and implemented custom Tivoli monitoring infrastructure for MQ. This included automated notifications of issues. Defined Tivoli workflows to automate notifications for when issues are resolved. For example, a Sender Channel in retry that manages to reestablish a connection. Implemented automated corrective action such as resetting a channel sequence number.
Architected, designed and implemented Tradeweb’s entire SharePoint Infrastructure, companywide. We leveraged SharePoint primarily for Enterprise Content Management. Designed multiple taxonomies, metadata, and content types for all legal contracts and other sensitive documents. Leveraged Document sets and custom lists extensively along with advanced search and extensive used of workflow automation.
Implemented K2 Five Business Process Automation tightly integrated with SharePoint. Developed a number of comprehensive Apps leveraging K2 Five for the Forms and workflow automation with SharePoint as the document repository.

MQ Architect/Administrator
Primary function was to Manage the Middleware Infrastructure Environments, areas include; WebSphere MQ, WAS, Synopsis ETL Broker, BMC Patrol, WebLogic and several other technologies, had 13 direct reports.
Responsible for the infrastructure architecture of the Middleware environments. Our main focus was to develop High Availability WebSphere Application Servers and MQ Series Messaging infrastructure. This was accomplished utilizing Network Deployment Manager in a Clustered environment both for WAS and MQ, both were clustered. Responsible for setting the direction of the Middleware group and deciding which new projects to develop, prioritize staff tasks, and report progress to upper management.
Played a hands-on role as Architect for all of our Middleware environments and hands on for MQSeries Administration. This included troubleshooting issues with performance, vendor application interfaces with MQ and application users etc.

MQ Architect/Administrator
Primary function is MQ Series Administrator. Responsibilities include, user community technical support, MQ Series installations on a variety of platforms (AIX, NT, Linux and OS/390), configure MQ environment, perform BMC Patrol for MQ Series installation and configuration across platforms, define all connections and other MQ Objects as required, monitor production MQ environment, and provide MQ support 24/7.
Daily responsibilities include trouble-shooting MQ problems with Application users as well as MQ issues that required IBM intervention and installation of various patches etc. Heavy emphasis has been placed on MQ Series monitoring where have played a major role in the design and development of a robust real time monitoring environment utilizing, BMC Patrol. Have installed the three-tier architecture software across all MQ platforms. I have also played a major role in standardizing all MQ monitoring including Environment and Application monitoring. We also tied in Tivoli monitoring to extend our monitoring capabilities.

Hired by numerous large corporations, many in the financial business world (Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, Metropolitan Life Insurance, Prudential Insurance Company, Deutsche Bank, Prudential Securities, Bankers Trust, Merrill Lynch, Merck-Medco) to design, program, implement and lead the development of numerous applications, leveraging numerous technologies which were at the heart of their day-to-day business operations.
Project Highlights
Designed and prototyped Tax Engine Broker to allow multiple applications in various environments to access the Tax Engine via MQ Series messaging for Prudential.
Developed various reconciliation programs to correct and report on database discrepancies for the Tax Data Base System. This included analysis, system and detail program specifications and full test plans, also for Prudential.
Developed, maintained and enhanced applications in a data warehousing environment for Merck-Medco.
Developed Registry Based MQ Series API to facilitate MQ Messaging for cross platform integration services and access to legacy systems for MetLife. This API provided a means of messaging via calls to an intermediary interface, thus eliminating the need for embedding MQI calls in application programs. The registry process added flexibility to the messaging environment by providing a means of modifying the messaging dynamics at run time without the need for program changes.
Developed/designed various messaging test utilities to aid in simulating multiple environments and general messaging housekeeping, also for MetLife.
Develop and maintain applications in a Data Warehousing environment such as creating and populating databases, manipulation of data and various other warehousing tasks, including the use of many DB2 System Utilities for Merck-Medco.
Develop, maintain and enhance applications for the DBTRADER securities trading system for Deutsche Bank’s
Application design, programming and implementation of back end systems for the Royalties Tracking System for Bertlesman Music Group. This included writing interfaces between mainframe and client server for DB2 to Sybase data conversion and transmission, shell scripting, and Sybase Stored Procedures with heavy emphasis on performance.
Analyze various online and batch applications for a large 401K system and provide written recommendations to improve performance, then implement and produce performance reports to illustrate performance gains for Prudential Securities.
Designed, programmed and implemented real time message switching systems for various trade processing modules for Banker Trust.
Provided analysis, design and programming support for various online and batch systems to support and or enhance a Managed Care Rebate System for Schering Plough.
Designed and documented the Bulletin System for Combined Warning for Merrill Lynch. System enabled customers to add or update Visa Card block status and assist sales vendors in determining charge authorizations. Also developed a Card Embossing System to process card orders nightly in batch and provided online embossing status viewing.
Designed and programmed Policy Inquiry System, consisting of over twenty CICS screens enabling users to view client data in general and detailed formats via toggling for Prudential.
Designed and programmed Target Marketing System. consisting of seven CICS screens enabling users to create marketing campaigns based on various selection criteria. Selection criteria would then be fed into a batch process to extract all clients from the DB meeting selection criteria and triggering a pre-specified Target Marketing letters, also for Prudential
