NetApp Inc Senior Engineer 2013 – Present

Lead a Solution effort - Big Data for Enterprise on NetApp All Flash array. Lead a team of three creating a Data Pipeline with an objective of stress testing, Chaos Monkey style Testing and publishing Technical Reports (TRs). This configuration consisted of MongoDB in a VMware vSphere ESXi 6.0 environment with RHEL 7.2 guests. Published TR 4659 and 4660 listed in the Publications sections below. Lead a team of 4, engaged with an external partner (RCP- Robin Cloud Platform) to make sure their Cloud/Kubernetes Container style offering integrated well with ONTAP using ONTAP APIs. An AWS ONTAP Cloud Instance served as a backup for the hybrid cloud configuration. ONTAP API’s allowed provisioning of both NAS and SAN (iSCSI, FC) Storage. Ansible was used for resource provisioning and Jenkins was used to automate a CI/CD pipeline which enabled auto updates to MongoDB, Cassandra, Spark, Container updates as well Flash Controller upgrades. Lead the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) Validation across ONTAP SAN Arrays. I was a member of the Product Security Group from Engineering. This involved verifying all cryptographic functions, TLS Security, verification of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and preventing them in ONTAP. Presented to customers, partners in Executive Briefing Centers the architecture and value proposition of NetApp’s data management software for various solutions hosted on NetApp arrays and ONTAP cloud. Lead the initial cloud investigation effort to leverage existing Interop Matrix for AWS Cloud ONTAP. Windows Technical integration lead for a team of 20 engineers, integrating ONTAP with Windows iSCSI, FC and Hyper-V.

NetApp Inc Member Technical Staff IV 2000 – 2012

Engaged cross functionally with ONTAP SCSI Target, iSCSI Target Developers to debug critical Interoperability issues, deviations from T10 SCSI Standards and got these issues fixed. Worked with Microsoft as well as Linux vendors on thin provisioning and ODX Standard adoption. Worked directly with Microsoft Developers, Microsoft TAMs in making sure iSCSI, FC and Multipathing

(MPIO) worked as intended.

Handled multiple high visibility customer escalations with Windows/ONTAP iSCSI, FC and MPIO

(Multipathing). When NetApp shipped its first iSCSI Product, I was deputed to support for 3 months to directly work with escalation engineers on critical customer issues. Developer of iSCSI SNMP MIB driver in ONTAP for remote monitoring with network monitoring tools. Developer of iSCSI CHAP Security driver in ONTAP per IETF Standards RFC 3720 & RFC3723. Device Driver developer of NVRAM4 in ONTAP.
