1. Summary description of details

Watch keeping on the bridge and in port from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 20:00 to 24:00. Control and updating of hydrographic, pharmacy and relevant requisition, cargo loading / unloading and ballast

operations during watch, and other speci c duties covered by SMS activities and procedures assigned by the Master in written form as “Delegation of Duties” and Muster standing orders. Furthermore for the Correction of charts and navigational publications (26.4.3), covering routes and areas of vessel’s projected voyages; the proper maintenance of navigational equipment (26.4.3);

updating regularly the compass log book; preparing weather, current meteorological report and

noon,arrival,sailing reports (26.4.4); take care of the ship’s signaling equipment (26.4.5). Moreover, referring to the delegation of duties, you are responsible for the

preparation of Arrival & Departure ship’s document required by the local authority; Handing over of a deck o cer (form A4); Voyage planning (form C7); Accident report (form C9); Radio equipment test and drill register / part 2 (form 8.1); Voyage Report and Port log (MSC form). The 3rd O cer is leader of First Aid Team and must carry out duties accordingly.

“Shipboard Organization” the 2nd O cer is responsible for following duties:

• Watch keeping ( From / to: 00:00 – 04:00 and 12:00 – 16:00

) ;

• Maintenance of Lifesaving and Fire Fighting appliances ;

• Cargo and ballast loading and unloading during the watch

;

• SMS : as per master’s delegations ;

• Radio Tra c Operation and Accounting of Communication ;

• In charge of safety training and familiarization of the crew as SOLAS CH III reg 19.4, testing daily, Weekly & Monthly all GMDSS Equipment and Recording all events by lling GMDSS Log Book ;

• Receiving of weather maps ;

• Check and test of Breathing Apparatuses and compressed air charge equipment ;

• Management of safety and working clothes ;

• Update of all crew personal training record books ;

• Before sailing from loading port prepare IMDG cargo list and ship document of compliance for the carriage of dangerous cargo ;

• Other assigned duties given by the Master in written form ( Delegation of duties ) ;
