Ability Summary

Custom home design has become my go to desired line of work. For the last eight years I’ve ran a small design/drafting business named Cajun Drafting Service from home. We specialize in custom home design and promote ”Passive House” solar designs at every opportunity. We also have worked with several local contractors on smaller scale commercial design as well. As such I am very familiar building codes including IBC IRC and all of NFPA. Buildings designed to meet all local regulations are not something new to me. I am able to communicate with building inspectors and code officials with complete understanding. As a journeyman carpenter I fully understand all phases of residential and commercial construction.

I’ve been a user of AutoCAD since 1990 and am now using AutoCAD Architectural 2018, a full featured program capable of full 3D drawings. I can turn a drawing around quicker than anyone that I know.

My past work experience has led me to be able to produce technical drawings of any type including complex piping arrangements, one-line electrical schematics, as well as commercial, industrial and residential fire protection systems using programs such as AutoCAD, SprinkCAD, HydraCAD, HydraCalc, HydraList, and Hass.

I’ve held and presented pre-construction and coordination meetings at multiple commercial, industrial, and military jobs. Have preformed site surveys for new construction as well as existing. Prepare and present bids and estimates.
