OBJECTIVE

I am a postdoctoral researcher with 10-years of experience working with medicinal plants, and with the extraction, isolation, and purification of their bioactive secondary metabolites. I performed a large number of bioactivity assays, screening natural compounds as enzymatic inhibitors. Besides, I worked with different melanoma cell lines and primary cultures of neurons and astrocytes as Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s disease models. I like teamwork, I believe that multidisciplinary work is essential, to be able to carry out deep and transcendent studies. Furthermore, I believe that each person gives a unique contribution at a human level to a nice and motivating work environment. I am looking for a position in the Benson’ Lab to continue growing as a researcher in the neurodegenerative diseases field.

KEY SKILLS

-Proven researcher experience in bioactive natural products discovery.

-Extensive knowledge and practical experience in the extraction, isolation, and purification of secondary metabolites, especially flavonoids compounds.

-Working knowledge and practical experience with chromatographic techniques (TLC, CC, HPLC), spectroscopic techniques (NMR1H and 13C 1D and 2D, IR, UV-VIS, CD), and spectrometric techniques (HMRS).

-Practical experience in natural products biological screenings on enzymes involved in disorders and pathologies (mushroom tyrosinase, murine and human melanoma tyrosinase, bovine xanthine oxidase, human

acetylcholinesterase, human GSK-3β).

-Experience in working with different cell lines (melanogenic B16F0 and HBL, and grown-factor differentiated PC12).

-Knowledge in working with Bioinformatics, as Molecular Docking on MOE software, virtual in silico screening using PharmMapper, Shafts, TargetHunter.

-Knowledge in Western blot, ELISA, Immunofluorescence and immunochemistry assays, confocal microscopy.

-Proven record of accomplishment working with multiple research groups.

-Capable of writing and reviewing research documentations such as Papers, Reviews, Book Chapters, Technical Specifications, Technical reports, and Standard operative procedures of assays and specific equipment.

-Ten years of experience in teaching courses on grade, and post grade educational levels.

-Experience in human resources formations, where I developed

management skills.

-Experience in academic management, having participated in departmental

committees of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences as a representative of University teachers.

-Experience in the screening of bioactive natural compounds as neuroprotectors in different models of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases.

-Work experience in obtaining and maintaining primary cultures of neurons and astrocytes (from cerebellum, hippocampus, and cortex of

C57B6J mouse, 3xTG-AD mouse, and Wistar and Sprague Dawley rats, from embryos, neonates to adults).

-Excellent engagement and multidisciplinary work skills.

-Soft skills as emotional intelligence, conscious communication, and

motivational spirit in research groups.
