DISSERTATION THESIS - BIO-SYNTHESIS OF NANNOPARTICLES USING Chenopodium murale
Phytochemical screening of different parts with different Soxhelt extracts of Chenopodium murale and identify the extract with best antimicrobial activity. Bio-mediated synthesis of metal oxide nanoparticles using plant extract is a promising alternative of traditional chemical synthesis. The study reports the synthesis of ZnO and Fe2O3 nanoparticles by biological method. Highly stable nanoparticles were synthesized using Chenopodium murale ethanol leaves extract and were characterized by XRD, UV–vis, SEM, TEM and FT-IR spectroscopy. The synthesized Zinc and iron nanoparticles were confirmed by XRD and FT- IR spectra. Morphology studies indicates spherical nature of the synthesized nanoparticles and EDXS shows their highly pure nature. The antibacterial activity of ZnO and Fe2O3 nanoparticles were tested against Bacillus subtilis (gram positive), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli (gram negative), Aspergillus niger and Penicilium chrysogenum by agar diffusion method. Finally, study has clearly demonstrated that both the nanoparticles are responsible for significant higher antibacterial and antifungal activities. Therefore, the study reveals an efficient, ecofriendly and simple method for the green synthesis of multifunctional ZnO and Fe2O3 nanoparticles using green synthetic approach and later studying them as an antioxidant agents using DPPH, FRAP and Metal Chelating activity.
