Texas Department of State health Services, Austin- Research Data Analyst Intern May 2020- August 2020

• Conducted literature review and led data cleaning, manipulation, analysis, and interpretation of results of birth defects data obtained from electronic hospital discharge records and vital records for Kommerell Diverticulum using SAS.

• Studied the prevalence of it from 1997-2019 and found out that the prevalence was higher among males.

• Independently designed and presented a report to the Birth Defects Registry team and prepared a manuscript.

Houston Health Department, Houston- Epidemiology Intern June 2019 - July 2019

• Led an oral hygiene awareness program and Project Saving Smiles.

• Analyzed data to test the efficacy of dental sealants among second grade children in Houston schools by using the follow up data using SAS.

• Categorical data analysis- Developed a logistic regression model and conducted predictive analysis to predict the probability of death at hospital discharge of ICU patients using SAS.

• Epidemiology- Interpreted the association between the use of e-cigarettes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and performed data analysis using SAS and developed a logistic regression model by using NHANES data which showed a positive association.

• SAS programming- Evaluated the association between paternal age and low birth weight by analyzing the CDC low birth weight data and a developed a logistic regression model that showed a positive association between both of them.

• Spatial Epidemiology (ArcGis)- Designed a geospatial representation of the prevalence of obesity and asthma and its spatial relationship in the state of Colorado using ArcGIS. VOLUNTEERING EXPERIENCE:
