Relevant Coursework
Senior Design under supervision of Kinze Manufacturing Inc. Fall 2019
•Designed a mechanism to streamline the efficiency of creating planters in 3 months
•Modeled mechanism in Inventor to predict necessary dimensions
•Calculated the required hardware’s model, material, and size to ensure real world application
Engine Model & Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Spring 2019
•Modeled and simulated a V8 Engine Creo Parametric 5.0
•Utilized Abaqus Complete Abaqus Environment (CAE) to perform Finite Element Analysis on V8 Engine to evaluate that the engine would operate and was created correctly
Truck Axle Model & FEA Spring 2019
•Modeled a military grade truck axle in Creo Parametric 5.0
•Created a bill of materials and engineering drawing of the axle in Creo Parametric 5.0
•Performed FEA on the truck axle to determine how much stress it could handle in Abaqus CAE
Team Hydraulic Pump Competition Spring 2018
•Collaborated with 4 peers to design and build a hydraulic pump that placed 3rd out of 21 pumps
•Developed a digital model of the pump in Creo Parametric 4.0 and 3D printed the propeller from that design
•Used CNC Mill, Lathe, and other machine shop tools to create the physical pump out of metal
•Delegated responsibility between team members evenly to ensure everyone was involved during the process
Work Experience
Machine Operator, Optimum Nutrition, Aurora, IL 60504 Summers 2016, 2017, 2018
•Operated heavy machinery while working on the factory floor
•Established an understanding of the safety features of the heavy machinery in order to keep the team safe
•Independently worked on the machine while employing effective communication with team members
Leadership Experience
President, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Fall 2017- Present
•Coordinate a Noche de Ciencias event that hosts over 70 adults and children from 4 school districts to encourage children to pursue a STEM career and educate parents on financial aid and college readiness
•Volunteer at local and national professional events to help empower, recognize and celebrate members of the community and their impact on the engineering world
Tutor, Multi-Ethnic Engineering and Science Association Fall 2018 - Present
•Tutor children grades K-12 with emphasis on STEM related subjects
•Encourage children of underrepresented backgrounds to pursue STEM
