EXPERIENCE
Universal Creative – Orlando Florida
Associate Mechanical Engineer January 2018 – Present
Design & Integration: Designed and engineered a multi-million dollar, fully carbon fiber, life safety system capable of supporting all potential system dynamics, while driving to meet heavily constrained payload Interface requirements. Development included optimizations for manufacturability and individual part cost
Quality: Performed inspections and testing on large scale mockups for part quality, functionality, and contractual obligation. Documented and conducted inspection of various life safety systems in accordance with both internal and external (ASTM, ISO, etc.) specifications for formal ridership buyoff.
Project Engineering: Responsibilities included reviewing and managing scope, budget, schedule, design, analysis, fabrication, testing, installation and commissioning. Identified and implemented new processes and procedures into streamline approval processes. Collaborated with various disciplines.
Documentation: Drafted, reviewed and executed scope of work documentation for the project team. Managed and conducted design reviews ensuring compliance with all required specifications. Drafted and executed test plans for both small and large-scale proof of concepts, etc. Developed test plans for First Article Approval.
Technical/Facility Coordinator May 2017 – January 2018
Project Management: Identified, tracked and resolved scope gaps within the projects design phases across all disciplines through detail design. Coordinated and managed design reviews for major milestone deliverables.
Coordination: Recorded meeting minutes for all required meetings, tracked, sent, and received transmittal requests for Domestic and International Vendors.
Research and Development Intern September 2016 – May 2017
Project Management: Corresponded with vendors/suppliers by scheduling and supervising installations, testing and commissioning of attractions, writing test plans, designing and presenting project proposals to obtain funding, completing design packages and scopes of work.
Commissioning: Assisted in implementation and testing of Universal’s Virtual Line Technology at Volcano Bay to both troubleshoot issues prior to opening and optimize the overall system design. Identified and resolved system failures of Universal’s Virtual Line integration (minimal cost impact) saving the project from requiring a complete system re-design.
The Walt Disney Company – Orlando Florida
Sustaining Engineering Intern August 2015 – August 2016
Problem Solving: Resolved part design issues for long term repair with cost in mind by improving and modifying existing parts/systems with the help of various Computer Aided Engineering Software.
Field Engineering: Supervised engineering services and Inspected attraction modifications during unplanned downtimes to determine the optimal path to overcome obstacles, saving both time and money for the company, increasing ride longevity.
Sustainability: Designed, fabricated and managed elements to be integrated during scheduled attraction downtime.
University of Central Florida – Orlando Florida
Hypersonic Simulation Research Assistant January 2014 – June 2015
Product Development: Designed, developed and integrated a control/feedback system and Graphical User Interface capable of driving, obtaining and recording data. System was capable of testing and analyzing mechanical, acoustical, and thermal loading on various material samples simultaneously. Managed design through fabrication and testing to delivery and completion.
