●Provides direct patient care services to children 0–21 years in an inpatient setting in collaboration with the attending physician, hepatologist and/or nephrologist, transplant pharmacy, transplant coordinator, and case manager.

●Performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies, obtains professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and discharge patients

●Pre-round and presents patients on multi-disciplinary care rounds

●Fill in for transplant surgeon on PICU rounds when unavailable

●Medically manage short bowel syndrome patients including TPN, enteral nutrition, infected central lines, post-STEP procedures, etc

●Document and bill in electronic medical records using Epic

●Surgical/Hospitalist for pediatric orthopedic team to medical manage patients on the service, post-op checks for posterior spinal fusions, etc. and complete discharges

●Complete consultations and admissions for pediatric patient from the emergency department

●Cover pediatric intestinal rehab program and/or transplant clinic two days per month

Adult Abdominal Transplant Physician Assistant

Surgical/Hospitalist position on a team of twelve advanced practice providers (APPs)

●Pre-round and collaborate on daily multidisciplinary rounds with kidney and/or liver transplant team which includes the transplant surgeon, transplant pharmacist, nephrologist and/or hepatologist, transplant coordinator, and case manager

●Communicate with surgical attendings, fellows, case managers and inpatient transplant coordinators

●Provide comprehensive direct patient care for surgically and medically complex adults on step-down and intensive care units. This includes assessing, diagnosing, treating, ordering appropriate imaging, transferring patients to higher level of care, and discharging patients

●Cover inpatient overnight shifts and triage overnight sick call for all transplant patients

●Perform pre-transplant and postoperative evaluations
