ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE:
University of California Riverside – Nov 2018 – Jun 2020
Student Researcher: EPA P3 Student Design Competition
Developed project concept and a technical proposal outlining cost estimates and plans for converting agricultural waste into environmentally friendly building material, demonstrated the project was consistent with P3 Student Design Competition requirements, and was ultimately awarded funding from the EPA.
Served as mechanical engineering/testing lead and established methodologies and a bill of materials for equipment within budget for testing chemical, mechanical, and thermal properties to ensure building code compliance and environmental goals would be achieved.
University of California Riverside – Jan 2020 – Jun 2020
Mechanical Engineering Senior Design Project
Developed a semi-automated system design for flame treating plastic components for a local battery corporation, by improving a preexisting flame treatment system and fulfilling new requirements/features set by the company.
Created frame and safety guard CAD assemblies and performed load analysis, utilizing MATLAB and Solidworks. Collaborated on the flow analysis and simulation (Solidworks) as well as the controls/programming, user interface, and collision detection system for the semi-automated process (C++ and Arduino).
Delivered a technical report and presentation of the final design to the design advisor.
University of California Riverside – March 2020 – Jun 2020
Student Researcher: Robotics and Medical Systems (RaMS) Laboratory
Designed a prototype assembly for a 3-dof base (using Solidworks) to hold a catheter needle for a catheter insertion mechanism.
