Title: Fingerprint based student attendance

Explanation: Our project aims at designing an student attendance system which could effectively manage attendance of student at institutes like our college. Fingerprints are considered to be the best and fastest method for biometric identification. They are not secure to use but it is unique fingerprint for every person and do not change in one’s lifetime.

Project No 2

Title: Implementation of a Face Recognition Based Student Attendance System Explanation: In this project face of an individual is used for the purpose of attendance making automatically, an automatic process is based on image processing. In this project face detection, feature extraction and face recognition is used to mark student attendance. Face detection is used to locate the position of face region and face recognition is used for marking attendance. Feature extraction is achieved by using one of the face recognition algorithm, in this project we are using PCA algorithm which uses a mixture of face recognition algorithm. The database of all the students and respective features of the face of a student in the class is stored and when the features of the face of the individual student matches with one of the features of the face stored in the databases then the attendance is marked to the particular student.
